Thanks for the video Taylor. I really liked the analogy about the parent telling his son to take out the garbage. It made me laugh, but it seems to work great, and I think creating stories like that within the music is an excellent thing to do. I also liked your approach to the ending section.
Thanks for sharing what you learned. You are the first person I heard mention that this is a great opportunity to be the teacher, and not just the student. It was great hearing from you throughout the contest, and I hope to keep in touch.

Torrin, I really like your idea about telling more about ourselves. I will try to introduce myself a little more in my next video, and I would like to hear more about everyone else too.

Katamiya June,19

Hey! This is very cool I like the many varieties and approaches we are getting. Things I would never even think of.

There are two main points you made that I thought were so interesting. Your decision to use a -different- mallet for early stages of practice is a really cool idea especially with peices like this where the end result will probably be using softer mallets, developing that clarity and not "hiding" behind your mallets is important.

I also like that you mentioned a metronome, that is of course an integral part of what we do. I really like the idea of using the metronome on the offbeat, that is so cool and would definitely give you a much better control over the tempo. I look forward to trying this when I practice in the future.

My only complaint is that you should introduce yourself more! Where did you study, what do you perform, what gigs have you played, what pieces have you learned recently? I just like to know more about the people I work with, and now this extends to my online community.

Maybe we should all include our musical resumes with our next tapes or something.

Overall, this was very enjoyabe.

Yours in performing,

Torrin Rosegold
